Pre-treatment considerations for Bio-mirconeedling, Microneedling with RF and Erbium Glass Laser

If you have booked a consultation and are wanting to go straight into treatment - You will be required to complete a medical consent form prior to treatment which will ask you to confirm the following.

24 hours prior - please avoid alcohol

7 days prior - please avoid high strength AHA alpha hydroxy acid (>10%)  and BHA beta hydroxy acid, (>2%) and all Vitamin A products even over the counter. Other chemical exfoliants (e.g. glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid) and physical exfoliants (e.g. granules, scrubs),

14 days prior - please avoid laser hair removal, Botox, microdermabrasion, waxing, threading

30 days prior - please avoid strong exfoliating or fractional or pico laser skin treatment , hyaluronic acid fillers, microneedling. 

45 days prior - please avoid laser skin resurfacing

90 days prior - please avoid/ensure you have completed any Roaccutane course.

Not suitable  - if you have had face threads (micro-needling only)

Fish allergy, relevant for Bio-microneedling - it is important to tell us - as we will avoid using the products with PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) which is a compound made from DNA fragments, traditionally extracted from salmon DNA, that is used in skincare to promote cell regeneration and repair. It helps stimulate collagen and elastin production, intensely hydrates the skin, and reduces inflammation, which can improve skin texture, tone, and elasticity. We have bio-microneeding treatments and serums that dont contain these ingredients.

Numbing cream - for microneedling or laser.

We are legally not allowed to provide, supply or distribute a pharmacy-only medicine. The product we recommend for numbing is called

Numit. 5% or Emla 5%. This is kept behind the counter in most pharmacies. We recommend a 30g size tube (this will last multiple treatments. We will provide guidance on the application of this on the day of your treatment.

After treatment with the thousands of micro-channels created, your face will be red and flushed for around 24 hours. We recommend that you avoid applying makeup and sunscreen as the ingredients can be absorbed. Mineral-based makeup and zinc-based SPF are suggested during your healing period. Try to avoid the sun as much as possible for 24 hours after your treatment.

Complete after-care instructions will be provided on the day.

ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT

Please bring a hat and a scarf for your neck and plan to stay out of the sun for the rest of the day and without foundation for 24 hours. You can wear makeup to your appointmen if necessary, but we would prefer you arrive clean faced.

Parking - Free 2-hour parking outside our clinics and free 4-hour parking in Gwenda Street or Perry Avenue (Moorabbin) or Nott and Princess Street, Port Melbourne, about 5-minute walk from each clinic.

Public transport - We are about a 2-minute walk from the Moorabbin train station and North Port Light Rail station.

Appointment time - Please ensure that you arrive on time for your appointment so that we can complete the full treatment. If you are late, we may need to reduce your treatment time in order to service our next booking.
